I’m reading Paul Williams book, Operation Gladio —
Operation Gladio: The Untold Story of the Unholy Alliance Between the Vatican, the CIA, and the Mafia
— and discovering the roots of the C.I.A. (Allen Dulles) and how it was originally, and continues to be, funded: Yep! Drugs from abroad, originally spirited to inner city jazz clubs inside fake oranges. This brilliant funding idea was borrowed from the Italian mafia, so, naturally, the CIA used mafiosi to start the same lucrative trade here. All of which means that Luke’s news about U.S. troops needed to protect poppy plants in Afghanistan does NOT surprise. Oh yes, and there’s the vast treasury of minerals under the earth there, needed for the latest in laptops and other devices that we think we must have.
I applaud Luke’s passionate, informed perspectives (and see this) on what’s going down in Amerika.
