Whether or not it’s connected to Assange, and aside from the loss of art and artifacts and the damage to a venerable structure, consider that this is “Tax Day” in the US. Cathedrals located throughout Europe were designed by the church to extract money from the faithful. Likewise the tax system in the US has been designed by, well we all know who, to extract wealth from the laborer and the worker.
Let the leeches, and their leeching ways, end.
