Remember the Nearings? Those of us old enough, do. Their prescient vision of the good life, which they came to in the ’50s, and which inspired leagues of hippies in the ’60s and ’70s lives on, resurging in our world where too much materialism coupled with, now, too little “money” and too little inner peace of mind and heart to show for it, has finally got lots of folks thinking again about how to live the good life.
I’d say couple the simplify and homesteading trends with the N-Street vision of retrofitting existing infrastructure to create community and we’re well on our way towards sustainable, regenerative lifestyles that we will be proud to hand on to our children and grandchildren.
