Does Snowstorm presage Showdown at Standing Rock?

Central North Dakota is expected to receive between 8 and 13 inches of snow from storms that hit the region late on Monday. The storms, which should last until Wednesday, will also bring 25 mph winds.

As a snow storm accompanied by high wind gusts expected to last for up to three days assaults dug in water protectors at Standing Rock, this:

Both the state of North Dakota and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers have ordered the Standing Rock Oceti Sakowin camp to be dismantled (but no force planned, says North Dakota), by December 5 (says Army Corps of Engineers), which happens to be only one day after the non-violent protest planned by two thousand veterans who have signed up to travel to and and stand with the 300 tribes and other water protectors on December 4th. They too, will face the enormous law enforcement presence of 75 agencies from seven states loaded with with military hardware given them by the U.S. military. Meanwhile, tribal elders have declared that the water protectors will defy government orders to dismantle and evacuate.

Given these converging forces, given this undeniable battle between good and evil, between those who protect Earth and earthlings and those who would serve only corporate greed, what could possibly go wrong?

Standing Rock: violence and evacuation orders raise spectre of showdown

A Showdown at Standing Rock Is Coming

Might this massive confrontation be remembered as the crucial moment when we polarized humans woke up, dropped our weapons and our pride, let go of our myopic obsession with consumerism, competition and status; turned around, turned and turned again, spinning round to the point where, dizzy and disoriented, we dropped to our knees on this holy ground — and, as one people on one planet, we prayed:  for forgiveness, for connection, for compassion.

Oh Great Spirit, let it be!
