Ever wondered what makes flocks of birds and schools of fish wheel about as one?

Closer to home: Ever wondered why there are not many many many many more accidents on crowded, fast-moving, multi-lane highways?

If so, please read this synopsis and review of Lynne McTaggart’s “groundbreaking classic” 2009 book (already translated into 14 languages), The Field, plus a Q&A with the author and a video of her lecturing on the subject. (I’m not sure who wrote the synopsis and review, might it have been the book’s author? In any case, it’s well worth reading.)

The zero-point field describes the action/state of “Neptune in Pisces,” currently in the heavens, 2011-2025. If there were ever a time for us to reorder our perceptions and understanding in a post-Cartesian, post-Newtonian manner, it is now, during these 14 years.

The Field: The Quest For The Secret Force Of The Universe

A bit like finding there is such a thing as The Force in Star Wars. The Field tells the story of respected frontier scientists all over the globe who have produced extraordinary evidence to show that an energy field –The Zero Point Field – connects everything in the universe, and we ourselves are part of this vast dynamic cobweb of energy exchange.

The Field also reveals a radical new biological paradigm — that on our most fundamental level, the human mind and body are not distinct and separate from their environment, but a packet of pulsating energy constantly interacting with this vast energy sea.

Here in so-called ‘dead’ space may lay the key to many of life’s processes, from how cells communicate to how organisms actually take shape. The field is responsible for our mind’s highest functions — our memory, intuition, creativity. It is the force that finally determines whether we are healthy or ill, the force which must be tapped in order to heal. Original, and well documented with distinguished sources, The Field lifts many areas out of the realm of mystery and into the realm of hard science

The Field creates a picture of an interconnected universe and a new scientific theory which makes sense of supernatural phenomena. It offers a scientific explanation for many of the most profound human mysteries, from alternative medicine and spiritual healing to extra sensory perception and the collective unconscious. It could even answer some of the big questions: what is human consciousness and what happens when we die.

The Field follows the life and work of physicists who seem to be on the verge of bringing about the same type of revolution that occurred exactly a century ago when quantum theory changed the face of physics forever.

The story of their thrilling discovery is a thriller in its own right, involving the CIA, secret Russian testing sites, NASA space programmes and time travel, as a small band of men and women come to grips with the physics of the impossible. Fast-paced and readable like a scientific detective story, The Field is the mind-body book the New Age has been waiting for, the book that will change your entire perception of the way the world works.

Award winning author and indefatigable investigative journalist Lynne McTaggart spent four years researching this area, where science meets the New Age, to create this story of scientific explorers, their groundbreaking work and its controversial implications for mankind. Until now, conservative scientists have done their best to rule ‘god’ out of their equations. This book shows why the Zero Point Field makes all things possible: all things connected in space and time.

Readers have written that The Field is a book that has changed their lives – their view of the world and their view of the possible. New Truths from The Field

What biology tells us

  • The human being is a survival machine largely powered by chemicals and genetic coding.
  • The brain is a discreet organ and the home of consciousness, which is also largely driven by chemistry — the communication of cells and the coding of DNA.
  • Man is essentially isolated from his world, and his mind is isolated from his body.
  • Time and space are finite, universal orders.
  • Nothing travels faster than the speed of light.

What The Field has discovered:

  • The communication of the world does not occur in the visible realm of Newton, but in the subatomic world of Werner Heisenberg.
  • Cells and DNA communicate through frequencies.
  • The brain perceives and makes its own record of the world in pulsating waves.
  • A substructure underpins the universe that is essentially a recording medium of everything, providing a means for everything to communicate with everything else.
  • People are indivisible from their environment.
  • Living consciousness is not an isolated entity. It increases order in the rest of the world.
  • The consciousness of human beings has incredible powers, to heal ourselves, to heal the world – in a sense, to make it as we wish it to be.

About The Author

Lynne McTaggart is an award-winning journalist and author. She’s best known as founder and editor (with her publisher husband Bryan Hubbard) of some of the UK and the US’s leading health newsletters.

She and Bryan are directors of a public company called What Doctors Don’t Tell You Ltd, which publishes newsletters and books about alternative health.

Lynne began work on The Field four years ago as a personal quest to see if any new scientific theories could explain how homeopathy and spiritual healing work. This journey took her to many areas around the globe, meeting with top frontier scientists in Russia, Germany, France, England, South American, Central America and the USA.

“During these meetings, I made incredible discoveries,” says Lynne. “What these scientists were working on seemed to overthrow the current laws of biology, chemistry and physics. Their work not only offered an explanation of why homeopathy and spiritual healing might work. Their theories and experiments also compounded into a new science, a new view of the world.” […]

FAQs

1. What exactly is ‘The Field’?

The Field is the Zero Point Field, a subatomic field of unimaginably large quantum energy in so-called empty space. If you add up all the movement of all the particles of all varieties in the universe, you come up with a vast inexhaustible energy source all sitting there unobtrusively in the background of the empty space around us, like one all-pervasive, supercharged backdrop. To give you some idea of the magnitude of that power, the energy in a single cubic yard of ’empty’ space is enough to boil all the oceans of the world.

The Field connects everything in the universe to everything else, like some vast invisible web. The papers published by these scientists written about in The Field show that the solid stable stuff we call matter is an illusion and is simply subatomic particles constantly moving and being gripped on by the background sea of energy. Everything in our world, no matter how heavy or large, boils down to a collection of electric charges interacting with the Zero Point Field.

It’s a bit like the Force in Star Wars. As quantum waves also encode information, it also as though, on the tiniest level of reality, a memory of the universe for all time is contained in empty space that each of us is always in touch with.

2. Why is the discovery of the Zero Point Field so significant?

Up until now, scientists have subtracted out this extra quantum energy because they felt it was not important. But a number of scientists, from top-ranking institutions such as Princeton and Stanford University in the US and many prestigious institutions in Europe, have realized that the Zero Point Field has enormous implications. Astrophysicists have called the ZPF a ‘cosmic free lunch’. If successful in harnessing the limitless energy of so-called ’empty space’, these scientists may be able to create anti-gravity WARP drives and create automobiles that run without fossil fuel. It might also open up the possibility that man may be able to travel beyond his own solar system.

Perhaps more important, the existence of the Zero Point Field implies that all matter in the universe is interconnected by quantum waves, which are spread out through time and space, and can carry on to infinity, tying one part of the universe to every other part. The idea of The Field might just offer a scientific explanation for the spiritual beliefs of many religions that there is such a thing as a life force.

3. Are human beings made of this same basic material?
Human beings, on their most fundamental level, are packets of quantum energy constantly exchanging information with this heaving energy sea. The frontier scientists I interviewed have amassed evidence showing that living things emit a weak radiation, and that this may be one of the most crucial aspects of biological processes. A German physicist called Fritz-Albert Popp has discovered that humans emit highly coherent photons — the tiniest particles of light. One of the most essential sources of these are DNA, which may mean that DNA uses the wave frequencies of this ‘light’ to drive all the processes of the body. Other tests show that animals of the same species ‘suck’ up the light emitted from each other. This activity could explain the silent communication that occurs between animals, and why flocks of birds or schools of fish, for instance, are able to achieve incredible, instantaneous feats of synchronized movement.

4. Arthur C. Clarke, Bernie Siegel and Larry Dossey have all hailed The Field as providing a radical new view of the world. What sorts of controversies have been uncovered?
One discovery is that every molecule emits its own unique frequency, which is used for communication. French scientists have shown that you can record the frequency of a molecule, play it to another molecule and the signal itself can take the place of chemicals in initiating biological processes. The prevailing idea — that chemical reactions occur because chemicals collide with each other — has always been too dependent upon chance and requires a good deal of time. It cannot account for the speed of biological processes-like anger, joy, sadness or fear. Perhaps most controversial of all, the scientists working on the frontier have also discovered that the basic of all the brain’s functions have to do with the interaction between the brain and the Zero Point field. New evidence shows the brain’s conversations with the body might also occur on the quantum level, with waves and frequencies, rather with chemical or electrical impulses alone. In fact, studies in America on humans and animals show that the cerebral cortex responds to certain limited bands of frequencies.

As incredible as it seems, it appears that when we see things, we are reading information from the Zero Point Field on a quantum level and our brain ‘reads out’ this information to create the images we see in front of us. Some scientists have gone as far as to say that our memories don’t sit inside our heads at all. Our brains are simply the retrieval and read-out mechanism of the ultimate storage medium – The Field.

5. You are better known for your health newsletters and your health campaigning. How did you get involved with a book like this?
This book got started eight years ago when in the course of my work I kept bumping up against solid scientific studies showing good evidence for homeopathy, acupuncture and spiritual healing. But if something like homeopathy or healing worked, I kept thinking, this contradicted everything we believe about our reality. Something fundamental seemed to be missing in the orthodox view of physics and biology.

I began a personal quest to find out if any frontier work in science could offer an explanation. I travelled to many areas around the globe, meeting with physicists and other top frontier scientists in the US, Russia, Germany, France, England, South American and Central America.

The Field has largely resulted from interviews with some 50 frontier scientists and a reading and deciphering of hundreds of scientific books and papers. During meetings with these remarkable men and women I made incredible discoveries. What they were working on seemed to overthrow the current laws of biology, chemistry and physics. Their work not only offered an explanation of why homeopathy and spiritual healing might work. Their theories and experiments added up to a new science, a radically new view of the world.

8. Aren’t there other implications in the notion of an energy field that connects everything to everything else?
The Zero Point Field may provide a scientific explanation for many of the most profound human mysteries, including many phenomena that we have not been able to provide an adequate explanation for. Ordinarily, the capacity of our brains to receive information from this energy field is strictly limited — like a radio with only a certain limited bandwidth. During ESP and remote viewing or clairvoyance — the ability to ‘see’ things beyond ordinary distances — it appears that this bandwidth expands, giving us more access to information in the Field than we would have ordinarily.

A series of studies in Texas have shown that one person’s brain waves begin to synchronize with another person’s during ESP, but the person with the most ‘ordered’ brain patterns will influence the other and nudge it to a greater degree of order. This provides an good explanation for the success of remote spiritual healing.

Other exhaustive studies at Princeton have shown that the human mind can also influence REG machines, built to perform a random electronic toss of the coin, so that we can ‘will’ the machine to produce more heads, say, than tails. The studies also showed that this effect got larger, if two people were trying to influence the machines together, but the biggest effect of all was with a bonded couple.

10. Beside these well respected scientists, are other credible organizations investigating the Zero Point Field?
For many years, the CIA funded a Stanford Research Institute program testing out remote viewing for psychic spying. One of the remote viewers in the Stanford Research Institute was so specific in viewing what appeared to be a Soviet nuclear testing site that it led the Reagan Adminstration to implement the Star Wars program.

Even today, the FBI has employed several credible organizations such as TransDimensional Systems to help with predicting future terrorist attacks after the events of September 11.

NASA and British Aerospace have also heavily funded work into Zero Point Field energy propulsion. Arthur C. Clarke has championed this work, and said that any aerospace company should get their best and brightest to study the Zero Point Field. A large consortium of scientists are now studying the implications of these Zero-Point-Field effects on the body. And several companies involved with artificial intelligence are created computer models based on these theories of how the brain works.
