Much of the world can witness the 2012 transit of Venus. The date depends on what side of the International Dateline you will be observing. Observers in North America will see the transit in the evening on June 5, 2012, through sunset, so you want to have a clear western horizon.
For the past year or two (revolutionary) Uranus has been moving closer and closer to an exact opening square with (primal, powerful) Pluto. This is the first alignment of import between these two planets since the late ’60s, when they conjuncted each other for the first time since the Civil War and all hell broke loose. “Make love, not war” was our slogan then, and it still is.
The first exact square between these planets presents now, this month of June, 2012. Between 2012 and 2015, these two planets will exactly square one another seven times. Each time they do so, the stuck, top-heavy, massively unsustainable resource-sucking infrastructure of this so-called civilization will destabilize further and further, finally grinding down to dust.
Meanwhile, since the situation is so very volatile and unpredictable, we have a greater than usual opportunity to influence the shape of things to come. How? By meditating together, in concert, on exactly what we want our future to be. More on that later. Meanwhile, we utilize other astrological configurations as they arise to help us get there. Which brings me to now. This month.
Here we go again, another magical time when Earth and other planets in our solar system move into unusually significant geometric alignments. Last month’s New Moon Solar eclipse of May 20th is paired with this month’s Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on June 4th.
That would be significant enough, but in this case, the Lunar Eclipse is followed only one day later, June 5-6, by an exceedingly rare transit of Venus across the face of the Sun. This straight line linking Earth, Venus and Sun will occur at 15° of Gemini and closely parallel the last one, eight years ago, on June 8th, 2004.
Venus transits occur every 100 plus years, and there are always two of them, eight years apart. Moreover, they always occur in either Sagittarius or Gemini, mutable signs that refer to the mind, ideas, communication, travels, religion, meaning, expansion of knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
No one currently on this planet will be alive during the next Venus transit. This is it, folks!
In order to even begin to predict what this Venus transit might mean, let’s travel back in time with U.K. astrologer Alison Chester Lambert, to see what she discovered during previous Venus transits, and what might these transit have all had in common.
From 1631 to 1639
A new world view was emerging, beginning with Galileo’s insistence that the Earth was not the centre of the Universe, the Sun was. Another influence was Rene Descartes who brought order to thought and something of a revolution in the intellectual life of Western man. The Catholic Church remained powerful, but was challenged.
A new generation of communicating European scientists were making nonsense of theories that had been rock solid for generations with microscopes and other inventions. They sought answers to motion and dynamics; things that had been unquestioned because they were holy and under God’s control. Authority and power was shifting.….and chocolate had arrived. (yyesss!!)
From 1761 to 1769
After a spectacular year of military successes in 1759, Britain signed peace treaties with France and Spain in 1763. Britain was now the dominant power in North America. However, the American Revolution started brewing at this time and the Anglican Church was ousted in 1761. Exploration for the achievement of scientific knowledge began with Captain Cook’s mission to Tahiti. (Vanilla to go with the chocolate?) He makes an unprecedented contribution to the knowledge of the Pacific. An industrial revolution occurred in Britain and the first of the mills, factories and canals were opened.
From 1874 to 1882
There were huge leaps in technology, electricity for public use and the telephone, light bulb and recording equipment were all invented. The Theosophical Society and the Christian Science movement were both founded in 1875.
So, what did these three periods have in common?
A common feature is exploration and the seeking of scientific knowledge, which is interesting, since it is very apparent that we are in the middle of huge advancements in scientific exploration now. Captain Cook’s expeditions, with their painstaking recording of information on species marked a leap forward in the history of human inquisitiveness and acquisition of knowledge.
The most common theme is revolution. In the 17th century it was about scientific revolution which the Catholic Church could no longer contain. In the 18th century it was about an industrial revolution in Britain (a dominant world super-power) and the preludes to a government revolution in America (to get rid of the afore-mentioned dominant world super-power.) In the 19th century a technological or electrical revolution began.
A.K. again: If this astrologer is correct, then when Venus (love/eros) in Gemini (ideas, knowledge) crosses the Sun (fire, light, illumination, huge huge energy) also in Gemini, what we’re looking at is revolution, a revolution in ideas, in the way we think, in how we communicate and explore, in what we now call a paradigm, or mental, perceptual framework through which we see and interpret events. Hopefully, that revolution will be spiritual in nature, to balance the scientific revolutions of past Venus transits. At least that is my wish.
Which brings me to an interesting point of view on the Venus transit, from Eric Francis, in his interview with another astrologer, David Tresemer.
Here’s how Francis sums up what he learned from Tresemer:
His basic idea is that the visions, images, plans and desires that we have are animated by a universal energy that he calls Eros. Eros is erotic in the sense we think of it but it’s a lot more — it’s more like the vital force that is looking for something to jump into and bring to life.
And that energy is about to surge, with this cluster of events — particularly, though, Venus crossing the disk of the Sun a week from today. What he’s suggesting is that whatever we envision consciously, whatever we desire, whatever we want to do or create, is about to get a surge of energy that will help bring it into manifestation. He is suggesting that we use mindfulness, intention and visioning and decide exactly what we want, and set ourselves up for the cosmic winds to bring it to life.

A.K. again. So, if we see Venus as Eros, connecting with the Sun, the huge power of the life force that enliven our dreams and visions, here’s what I’d like to see, and it follows from what I’m about to predict.
I looked at the astro chart for the Venus transit, and at 15° Gemini, that puts warlike Mars at 16° Virgo within one degree of being exactly square (in conflict with) the Venus/Sun transit. My sense is that this is the period of time when the TPTW (The Powers That Were) will try to start a war in the mideast. A big war. The one they’ve been leading up to for some time now.
The Venus Transit is the power of love that will overcome the power of war.
They won’t be able to start their war. Whether it be the Galactics who stop them or We, the People who stop them, or all of us acting in concert together, extraterrestrial, inter dimensional and terrestrial, this next war-for-pillage-and-profit just won’t fly.
We know too much now (Gemini); we know so much that our values are changing, our worldview is changing, our paradigm is shifting, we are shifting — out of subservience and obedience and blind sheeple conditioning into awake, aware, alert, intelligent surveillance of our global domain that we share through this internet that brims with ideas and facts and craziness and brilliance and requires us all to be constantly, continuously discerning (Mars in discerning Virgo). And beyond that, to make sure we are on the path we choose, rather than the one chosen for us, so many thousands of years ago; that road to perdition, to hell, to the hell of their imagining.
“They” made up the whole notion of hell, and threatened, with their “religion” to throw us all in it if we weren’t “good.” Well, we’re no longer good. We’re mad as hell, and we aren’t going to take it anymore.
So, that’s my dream, my vision for this beautiful, wondrous, love-ruled day when for the final time in over one hundred years, Venus will inch across the face of the Sun and we will break out into love rather than war. A sudden, flooding, world-wide realization that we can not only change, we can lead the way into the new age of plenty and abundance and justice and fairness for all.
How are we going to accomplish this! By meditating. The last two global meditations, on May 5th and May 20th, were warm-ups. On June 5th/6th there will be a Venus transit, a rare cosmic event when planet Venus passes in front of the solar disk. This Venus transit will mark a completion of the 8 year cycle of the Return of the Goddess which started with a previous Venus transit in 2004. Goddess energy is a pure feminine essence of Love that will help us easing the planetary liberation process. Both masculine energies of action and feminine energies of receptivity are needed to complete this process successfully. Removal of all dark entities will be a direct consequence of a newly achieved balance of female and male energies on this planet.
