Inaugural Poem: “One light, waking up rooftops, under each one a story, told by our silent gestures, moving across windows, my face, your face, millions of faces in morning’s mirrors, yawning to life . . .”

Just watched/listened to Richard Blanco read his Inaugural Poem.

As soul-stirring as was President Obama’s sweeping, nuanced, and unusually impassioned speech, exhorting us to realize that “We are made for this moment,” so the poem that followed intoned our common prayer.

After watching the entire Inaugural ceremony, I am grateful to report that, as terrifying as these jingoistic gun-waving years (2012-2015) under Uranus/Pluto may sometimes feel, this Inaugural speech and this Inaugural poem both resonate with the other powerful magnificence energizing the heavens during these years: spiritual Neptune in its home sign, watery Pisces, from 2012 through 2025 — erasing all boundaries for We, the People, under one sun, one sky.

President Obama, January 21, 2013: “We, the people, still believe that our obligations as Americans are not just to ourselves, but to all posterity. We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations.”
