How to save the world? It’s easy — and very very difficult.

Why? Because we’re not used to it. Not used to being closely connected — to each other, to our dear Mother Earth. And yet, and yet! The more of us who do what Dave Pollard recommends here, the more powerfully we will ignite a new way of living, a new propulsion into loving . . .

Screen Shot 2015-10-22 at 8.34.24 PMCase in point: tonight’s weekly Community dinner, when members of our two-house Green Acres Eco-Pod open our patio dinner to others. NOT a potluck. A gifting.

About a dozen folks — little kids, students, a professor, several permies, IU grad and undergrad students, young working people, one middle-aged photographer, and two of us old women — gathered tonight. And lots of dogs — in fact too many dogs, two of whom ached to decide who was boss.

Here they are, alpha dog Buddha and visitor Hacksel, thanks to neighbor Rebekah, Hacksel’s owner, who snapped this picture and sent it to me.

Might we learn to live as dogs do? Decide things once and for all and then take our place in the pack? We CAN all get along, you know, if we just rear back, and laugh, and let go of whoever we think we are.
