Note: First, Green Acres Sign SagA continues
This past Wednesday, for the second day in a row, I joined neighbors, including the original three elders, with younger neighbors, this time to fill the boxes with dirt, and plant.
Now that four of the five signs are actually up, puppy Shadow and I walked around the neighborhood this morning to see the ones that hadn’t yet been put up when we did the flower boxes.
At 7th and Union, the sign features a tree branch!
At Bryan and 3rd, featuring pine trees. (That one is set on a slope, so the box looks diagonal . . . Not much we could do to fix that.)
At Eastgate and the Bypass: butterflies? No! MORELS! A great choice, since they regularly pop up out of nowhere in Green Acres.
Two more recent additions to our common space: Little libraries, one for kids at 5th and Hillsdale, the other for adults in front of 134 Overhill.
