Empire Files: Endgame militarization of the U.S. economy and political system

We citizens have no more excuse for not recognizing what the U.S. has become. Not that genocide of one kind or another hasn’t been happening since the beginning of this nation. But its horrific, expanding institutionalization via the MIC — and associated ancillary industries — is now becoming so obvious that not even this former Bush official could stomach it.

Abby Martin: what made you decide to speak out? Answer: “TORTURE. I never knew that not only had it been authorized, but encouraged, including by the president and vice-president of the U.S., who are complicit.” And yes, he added, to her question, they ought to be brought to trial.
