Today, while eating lunch, I opened an art magazine from nearby Brown County that had been sitting in a pile on my coffee table since July. And of course, there was a story in it that parallels this morning’s Ground Operations story about healing opportunities for Veterans via farming. And this new story springs from local In-Diana soil! So glad to find it. I post the reprint here that Elder Heart put up on their website.
From the Elder Heart story: what we now call PTSD in the Civil War was called “soldier’s heart,” where “one of the symptoms is a feeling of absolute isolation.”
