During. this unprecedented Great Pause, and on the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, let us intend to work together to restore the entire interwoven ecosystem of our beautiful host planet.
We here in Green Acres Permaculture Village, a tiny three-home-and-grounds retrofit intentional community inside a suburban neighborhood, have been evolving this visionary intention for nearly ten years.
Last Friday’s work party:
Gabby and Marita (son Nicholas in background) are still busy with mass mailings for the Garden Tower Project mask frames. Already more than 40,000 have been shipped (not all from this location!), and who knows how long this work will need to go on.
Now that we humans realize what clean rivers look like, and how birds sound in spring, and the silence that greets the sunrise without cars; now that we have time to watch a seedling grow, we begin to remember our original attunement with Nature herself.
Both the militaries of the world and those who otherwise would be “out of work” in the coming transformed economy, could choose to turn their attention to this Great Work Of Our Time of restoring our beloved planet to her original beauty and bounty. There’s plenty of room for all of us here, when we utilize our magnificent individualities to work together for a common purpose.
Clearly, if GM can turn on a dime to make ventilators, the possibilities for human effort. and ingenuity are limited only by our imagination and concentrated, cooperative effort.
