Craigslist Joe: “To know that we can take care of each other . . .”

. . . said “Craigslist Joe,” to his loving mother, who raised him to trust people, on return from his month-long odyssey across the United States, with no money, no credit cards, no contacts with friends, relying on the kindness and generosity and shared lives of strangers he met on craigslist.

And on the final day he met Craig himself, the man who started the whole phenomenon back in 1995, this on-line flea market where we don’t just trade stuff and services, but meet each other, sometimes heart to heart and soul to soul.

I just now got up off the couch from watching this astonishing documentary film that I accidentally ran across as a streaming netflix. Its message so stunningly real and alive, and yet actually quite expected, given my own experience during those years when I was “up against it” and the universe opened to receive me just in time and in all ways.

The message of my own life and of this film is so very very different from the staged shootings milked by the MSM to pound in messages of fear, isolation, destruction. NOT SO. We can and we do, take care of each other.
