Back home in Indiana, after my 11-day blitz trip to, during, and from the UFOMegaCon (see three recent posts), I just barely begin to regrasp the horror that infects us worldwide. UFO buddy Joan thinks my attitude too conspiratorial, especially after I mentioned to her on our final day in Laughlin Nevada that I’d heard that the CIA masterminded the ’60s revolution. But wouldn’tcha know, I came upon this just this morning, a review by Robert David Steele, no slouch himself, his review of Daniel Estulin’s new book.

What unnerves me most about just noticing the title of Estulin’s book, is that my hero, back in the ’60s and early ’70s, was R.D. Laing, a psychiatrist, who in his early days, was associated with the Havistock Institute.

Reading over the above — fairly balanced! — article, I remember why I was so enamoured: Laing’s views that 1) “mental patients” are to be listened to for their own truth, rather than mindlessly medicated into oblivion, and 2) that “psychosis” in individuals was often the result of earlier “psychosis” in family systems. Plus, he advocated self-healing, which I eventually did, working long and hard on myself to become aware in the present moment, over and over and over again, year after year, to the point where I began to notice my own behavioral patterns and consciously decide to change them.
But did I unwittingly, while trying like hell to become conscious, to actually wake up, instead inadvertently trade one mind-controlled reality (Roman Catholicism) for another (Feminism)?
What am I to make of the idea that the CIA engineered the ’60s? That, Steele says, this book claims, the CIA distributed 24,000 tabs of LSD to Woodstock revelers?

As an alt-epistemologist, I ask myself to keep my mind open, to be continuously opening to whatever, and that includes letting go of old shiboleths whenever and wherever they appear.

The 60’s were *definitely* engineered by the CIA, starting with the drug, Hollywood, and music scenes. This book by David McGowan really brings home how many musicians of that period had ties to the military and the CIA, and the nest of collusion that existed in LA at that time.
Remember Cathy O’Brien and her revelations about many musicians, politicians, and sports stars re: drugs and sex trafficking? This book brings home just how widespread that whole scene really was/is. Read through the reviews for the book. Highly recommended!

I’ve come to think the concept “psy-ops” is itself a psy-ops, to prevent us from ever trusting happiness, and keep us ashamed of *liking things.* It seems to me to be an ever-more-frantic focus on external events, leaving the inner life ignored.
Vigilance to the inner life brings more truth, I’ve found.
Question to the resident astrologer: how does the sex-drugs-rock’n’roll emergence in the 1960s match up with the Uranus-Pluto conjunctions of 1965-67? And the discovery of Chiron in the 1970s? Which had more power, the movement of the planets, or the CIA? Which do *you* give more power? What has more long-term power: a private assassination, a mass media campaign, or the opening chord of “A Hard Day’s Night”?
Oh my. Great questions, though that final one leaves me flummoxed. Re: the Uranus/Pluto conjunction, yes of course, whatever happened then, no matter how you parse it, dovetailed with that eruption in the collective unconscious. One way to parse it might be that the CIA hijacked what they could see astrologically was coming. I do remember, for myself, two things that woke me up: 1) Betty Friedan’s book, and “the problem that has no name” (why women of my generation were so dissatisfied with their lot in life, from the get-go), and my discussions at the kitchen table with a female friend of mine with kids underneath. The CIA was NOT responsible for those discussions, though the general underlying turbulence that was about to erupt (and its connection to the rare Uranus/Pluto conjunction) certainly was. But then there’s the Buddhist view of “dependent arising,” everything arises together; but, not aware of that, instead we make up causal chains which conflict with each other and try to beat each other up with them as our weapons. Yuck! Life in 3D.
The wonderful thing about astrology is that it gives some advance insights into possible themes, longings and/or dynamics that will likely arise. The longer I live, the less I think we can escape or outrun such forces (transits, aspects) … but the more context we have for seemingly from left field disruptions, the more positive influence we can lean into.
Of course, the CIA, the vatican, Hitler, etc. have long used astrology and symbolism, among many other tools to attempt to redirect/undermine any real collective change. As individuals, we can use our own intuition, program our own subconscious, consult an ephemeris, etc. and we can level, then tip the playing field in our favor/in favor of modeling healing and empowerment. Personally, I’ve had a gag reflex to CIA agents and programs since I was a very young child. I’m grateful for never being able to swallow most of what became “the program.”
Me too. At least as far as TV “programming” goes. I always hated television, and even as a child, couldn’t be in the same room with it.Something about its vibration felt extremely toxic to me. On the other hand, Catholic programming pulled me into its hungry maw big time, and kept me there for nearly two Jupiter cycles (12 yrs x 2). Jupiter: the higher mind, expansion, perspective. YES. As a double Sagittarian, ruled by Jupiter, I finally woke up and moved from less evolved “fundamentalist” Sagittarius to what I now call “alt-epistemology.” I.e., allow the mind to continuously open, open, open!
