Congratulations, Class of 2013: You’ve just been spit out of the College Industrial Complex into the greater Corporate Industrial Complex

In this season of graduation, here are two pieces about what current college graduates drag along behind them, the first piece more incendiary, or at least obviously so. We’ve known for awhile now that college debt dwarfs all other kinds of debt, that it can’t be forgiven with bankruptcy, that it makes debt slaves out of young people. And we’ve known that there aren’t many hi-paid “jobs” out there anymore. So how can they pay them off, ever?

Senator Elizabeth Warren’s entirely reasonable proposal, that college students pay the same rate on their debt as the big banks, is gathering steam. Well, duh!

Even better, a global debt jubilee. Yep. That would make more sense. Start over. Forgive all debt, and forgive all the other bad stuff that we’ve done to each other over time, too. Just let it go. Hoʻoponopono. Lean into Love, the real power that fills and fuels the universe.

Dear Class of 2013: You’ve Been Scammed

and

The College Industrial Complex

Meanwhile, Blockupy in Germany and three days of protests in Turkey show young people far more engaged as citizens than here in the U.S. Why? Did the coordinated police crackdown on 2011 Occupy protests succeed in putting out the fire in the belly? The Corporate Industrial Complex wants to keep young people down, feeling ashamed and worried and preoccupied, believing in their “debt.” Oh? Is it really real?

And meanwhile, all the actions against Monsanto in various European countries finally produced results.

Monsanto to halt GM push in Europe

Oops! After the recent discovery that illegal GM wheat seeds had infected non-GMO farmers fields in Oregon, somebody in the U.K. looked on a U.S.-made box of Kraft Mac and Cheese, and guess what? Yep. It is made with illegal GMO wheat.
