“Dig in” may have its limits . . .
In Amerika, “eminent domain” covers a lot of ground. Federal interests combine with private interests to git things done. I know a couple who lived on a beautiful, relatively remote 40 acres between Bloomington and Crane, an enormous industrial military complex. Wouldn’t you know, a long-fought section of I-69 was scheduled to barrel right through there, and this last year, did. One of its interchanges comes within 100 feet of their home, and, check this, INDOT, after a long waiting period that left this couple in limbo and used up their savings in attorney fees, refused to buy it from them.
