Found out yesterday at the Local Growers Guild potluck that permies.com is the most active permaculture site in the world. And the 4th outhouse featured in this video, made from a giant tree stump sitting on a slope, is probably the most aesthetic, beautifully constructed, and brilliantly designed outhouse ever! (Starts at about the 4 minute mark.) After two summers, and “a couple of thousand uses,” the humanure still hasn’t made it to the bottom. Thanks to my housemate Jim, for the pointer.

Oh my … I remember these .. not quite sure it was because we were poor … or that we lived in the country … or the combination of both … but I remember our back yard having one of these outhouses … I was about 4 or 5 years old …
The design was not so fancy … but the seating area is the same lol …
