Ben Garrison’s succinct overview of July 4, 2020

The astrology of July 4-6 is portentous, including the third and final eclipse of this season on the Full Moon at 13°18 Cancer/Capricorn. Plus, only hours later the Moon passes directly over the constantly suppurating boil known as “Jupiter/Pluto/Saturn” throughout 2020. Will discuss all this tomorrow. Meanwhile, remember that the sound of gunshots can be disguised by fireworks.

All I can say is I’m glad that Mars is not precisely in the mix. It is, however, at 3° Aries now, having gone into that sign over last weekend, when the St. Louis attorney couple defended their mansion with guns and barefoot from protestors marching by who had destroyed the gate to their private community. (Would they have done that while Mars was still in dreamy Pisces? I doubt it) Lots of symbolism in that event. I can relate to both the protestors and the couple. The protestors, who feel on the outs in a land where only a small percentage of people are wealthy, and use it to glorify themselves with mansions; and the couple, who were brave enough to go outside and stand there, with guns. Mars brings action. It’s time for all of us to put down the popcorn and step up to the plate. Time to consciously act, rather than just react — in fury or fear — and hopefully in ways that are courageous and instructive, rather than demonic and destructive. A very difficult moment in a momentous multi-year period in U.S. history. Will this nation survive its now ramping up Pluto Return (2020-2025? Should it? All bets are off.

BTW: if you look at the lyrics some of the iconic songs that celebrate this nation, you will notice that they invoke the beauty, sweep, and majesty of the actual place. For example: America the Beautiful, God Bless America, and This Land is Your Land.

Oh beautiful, for spacious skies, amber waves of grain, purple mountain majesties, fruited plain, brotherhood, from the mountains to the prairies to the oceans white with foam, Redwood Forest to Gulf Stream waters, golden valley, diamond deserts, this land is your land, this land is my land. How very fortunate we are to live here together!

Might we begin to move beneath the rigid and absurd mental frameworks that are used to divide us politically, locking us into tinier and tinier categories, back to appreciate and give thanks for, what unites us, the living, conscious ground underneath our feet?

In Green Acres Permaculture Village, where our motto is “Growing community. from the ground up,” we plan to sing these three songs, in that order, together, tomorrow evening, with podmate Andreas accompanying us on the piano.

Sparklers, afterwards.

  1. You do know, of course, about the NFL saying they will have 2 anthems for Game 1. (note: I don’t watch football, the “Black Anthem” “Lift Every Voice & Sing” is lovely but I never heard it called that before this year, and frankly, I don’t care)? It’s just these performative gestures are getting to be a bore.

Agreed. Professional sports are shooting itself in the foot in their scramble for political correctness.
