— is making mincemeat out of the New York Times admission that university scientists function as prostitutes for Big Ag. I refer you to the original article below. Notice how it pretends to be “fair and balanced,” stating that organic companies also enlist university researchers, plus to do p.r. and lobbying. However, it admits that the p.r. and lobbying effort from the organic industry is a pittance compared to what Big Ag can afford.

An yet, so far, says this long, windy, somewhat confusing NYT article culled from emails, in a statement that amazes me, “There is no evidence that academic work was compromised.” Say wha?

Academic work is always compromised. We set out to find what we already have decided to see — whether or not our paws are greased with money. There is no such thing as “objectivity,” scientific or otherwise. It’s our uncritical cultural “be-lie-f” in so-called objectivity that creates all the hoopla about “getting a scientific opinion.” That’s got to change. We are always, inescapably, speaking from a single (limited, skewed, directed) point of view in a universe of infinite space, infinite choices, infinite points of view.
