A TED talk, Chew on This: Let us “listen to nature’s operating instructions.”

This is a wonderful instructional video that moves the audience into a transformed way of thinking via tiny pieces of info strung together little by little into a fascinating narrative that widens perspective to heal the split between nature and culture. Here’s Dan Barber, a famous Jewish New York City chef, telling his funny, subtle, self-deprecating tale of the farmer in Spain whose life, he claims, is to “give the geese what they want.” The result: the best foie gras in the world without “gavage” (force feeding). How does the farmer do it? Not by trying, and failing, to control nature. Instead, he “listens to nature’s operating instructions.”

Thanks to Jim, for the reference.
