Excerpts from the transcript:
Edgar Mitchell: “There’s been a very active effort to discourage and discredit the whole area, for at least 50 years. The very existence of an extraterrestrial presence, or an extraterrestrial existence even, went against the conventional science. When I went to the moon, 30 years ago, it was conventional wisdom both in science and theology that we were alone in the universe. And I don’t think people really believe that anymore. And the UFO reports had been going on for almost 30 years before that, and been denied, and swept under the rug, and filled with disinformation.”
Another astronaut, Storey Musgrave, veteran of six shuttle missions: “I think the public has the right to know if anyone has visited us. They can accept that, and they want it.”
Shuttle Mission STS-29: “Houston, this is Discovery. We still have the alien spacecraft under observation.” . . .
