This video makes me smile in that so many of the young women featured seem so tentative and shy, and yet they’re forming the words of this song, and in singing the song together, they come into their own, our own, we the women, all over the world, hearts open wide to include all the men, even the ones who can’t open their hearts, who seem forever closed. We weep for them in their their solitary isolation, their desperation that fuels greed and war and destruction. We embrace the men, all the men, we treasure them as we treasure each other and our own, very full, very aware, selves.
