Here are two posts that really speak to me. Both address the current situation building atmospherically, around the globe. The first one, by Zen Gardner —

Shifting in the Land of the Shiftless

— assumes that we are heading into “conflagration” and must keep our centers while millions of people die as the infrastructure of our civilization incinerates.

I didn’t want to publish this piece, since I don’t want to assume conflagration is inevitable. Then, this morning, I read another post, by Chris Bourne, which addresses the same situation, essentially agrees with Gardner’s assessment, and yet looks at the situation dynamically, and in that finds precedent for another kind of shift:

On War and the Passage of Light

Bourne’s essay really speaks to me. In sum, he says that the universe is pressing for release from the bulging pressures of rampant end-game capitalism, its terminal desecration of the bodies, minds, and souls of both humanity and our Mother, Earth.

How shall this release take place? Usually such unsustainable pressures are discharged in war. But the author notes that the end of communism in the Soviet Union occurred peacefully, without a single shot being fired. In other words, a recent precedent for the required shift without World War III is there, if we choose to take it.

And choose, we must. Each of us in our own lives, our own arenas, our own world.

So, as Zen Gardner put it in another post he put up this morning, Fly Your Freak Flag High!

Become who you really are. Shimmy out of the crumbling conditioning that still holds you in thrall to the final ism, capitalism, the one that will do us in, unless enough of us wake up to our sovereign integrity, NOW.

Yes, let us release our real, authentic selves, express fully in our own unique ways, the massive love of the universe longing to pour through our open, wounded hearts.
