Investigative Reporter Greg Palast, on his new book, “Vulture’s Picnic”

With John Nichols, of thenation.com.

From my notes:

Nichols: Greg actually went to the sources of the story, what nobody does anymore. . . A five continent investigation of BP . . . You’re a story teller. You want to tell the story of the adventure of getting the story as well as the story itself. . . . Why is it so rare today, what you did, sneaking over borders, etc., to get one story. We don’t do that anymore.

Palast: It’s expensive! . . . Anderson Cooper could do the story, except that he can’t get his makeup man (or the tight teeshirt) in the canoe (to go down the Amazon). He’s a great guy, but he was at the gym when they handed out the facts . . .
