I have a dear friend, I’ll call her Janet, who runs a Catholic School. Though not one of the nuns recently rejected by the Pope, she might as well be. Not surprisingly, for years, Janet has had to subtly prop up the priest of her parish. To make him feel like he knows what he’s doing, like he’s the boss.
So, when this latest decree by the Holy See targeted American nuns (now down to one third their numbers from the ’60s, and most of them in their 60s and older), my friend was furious! Furious!
Her husband keeps trying to calm her down. “Careful what you say,” he warns. “You don’t want to lose your job.”
Here’s a video for Janet. Go Kali! Go Durga!
