GOOD NEWS: Young women rock!

511gP3xdTPL._AA160_I’ve been reading a remarkable book, The Amazons: Lives and Legends of Warrior Women across the Ancient World, by Adrienne Mayor. And it has further sensitized my already active radar for the goings-on of young women here, today!

I came home last night to these hilarious “shoes” by the front door. A friend of young podmate Katarina spent the night on the couch.

And that got me thinking about our young women, what they are up to these days. Here are a few headlines:

Responding to the prison industrial complex with permaculture and resilience

How One Indigenous Woman Took On a Multinational Mining Corporation . . . And won

Protein producing Insect-breeding kitchen appliance

Afghan Woman Dodged Prison to Help Poor Women Read

Beating Climate Change by Retooling the Economy

And then there’s Katarina herself. She took puppy Shadow with her this morning on a run so that I could get my exercise today by walking downtown (without Shadow) to meet Shodo Spring for lunch.

Check out what Shodo’s been up to.

A New Interview with Shodo Spring about her “Compassionate Earth Walk” from the Tar Sands of Alberta to Nebraska

And check out what Katarina has done to the facebook page for Green Acres Neighborhood Garden. She’s putting up lots of posts that could have gone up here, on exopermaculture. You might want to check what she posts there every couple of days. And, you might want to “like” the page!
