Wars will End when Soldiers Refuse to Fight

To me, the resistance and refusal of soldiers to serve in an army of occupation or in an aggressive war is extremely important. Because, while you can have many different expressions of opposition to an immoral war, there’s no form of resistance more powerful, more troubling to the occupying power, or to the aggressive military power, than when their own soldiers refuse to serve.” ~ Howard Zinn, 2010

  1. rose day says:

Total figures for deaths related to World War II alone range from 60 million on the ‘low’ end to
85 million upon inclusion of civilian deaths related to disease and famine…(Wikipedia).

Consider that US ‘enemies’ in World War II are presently US allies and the futility of War wanders into a realm that truly surpasses understanding and poses the eternal question, “To what end?”.

War will end when humanity as a whole awakens to the absolute futility of War.
