Yes, it’s disheartening, and yes, it may spell doom. Or not. We don’t understand the way the universe works. Just today, I see another post on washingtonsblog —
— that notes how the Sun and Earth are in some kind of resonance, rather like two people can be in resonance on planet Earth. Any two beings, in fact, no matter how far apart in time and space, commune with each other in ways that go way beyond our understanding, scientific or otherwise. And, in the same post, a little note that points out that, among other wonders, the rates of radiation of nuclear materials here seem to vary depending on what the sun is doing there. An excerpt:
“Indeed, scientists have been stunned in recent years by the following discoveries:
• Flares from the sun change the rate of radioactive decay of elements on Earth
• Sounds generated deep inside the Sun cause the Earth to shake and vibrate in sympathy. They have found that Earth’s magnetic field, atmosphere and terrestrial systems, all take part in this cosmic sing-along”
Once we learn to see through our own carapace, i.e., our tiny, tight “identity” (self-image, belief-system, ego), that “conceptual helmut” we wear around as if it’s a life support system (can you believe?!), we realize that we magnificent spirits are living partially inside temporary material forms that are blessedly permeated by all and everything. I.e., we come to understand, to feel, to know that this magical, mysterious universe IS a single, living, conscious entity. As is, I imagine, whatever even larger universe it’s enclosed within, and the one beyond that, and beyond that?! There is no end to the glory.
