J. Quinn: Who Are the Real Traitors?
Albert Bates: The Unibomber in An Age of Limited Options
Quinn quotes Edward Snowden on Dick Cheney, and frankly, it’s his remarks on Cheney, especially his final sentence, that makes me feel that if he’s been duped by the CIA into being a “whistleblower,” then he’s shot out beyond his handlers.
Here’s the quote:
“Further, it’s important to bear in mind I’m being called a traitor by men like former Vice President Dick Cheney. This is a man who gave us the warrantless wiretapping scheme as a kind of atrocity warm-up on the way to deceitfully engineering a conflict that has killed over 4,400 and maimed nearly 32,000 Americans, as well as leaving over 100,000 Iraqis dead. Being called a traitor by Dick Cheney is the highest honor you can give an American, and the more panicked talk we hear from people like him, Feinstein, and King, the better off we all are. If they had taught a class on how to be the kind of citizen Dick Cheney worries about, I would have finished high school.“
Who “doesn’t finish high school”? It’s not always “losers.” In fact, it may be that the most original people, those still in touch with their original natures, who reject “compulsory schooling” and its most powerful of mind-control contexts (except of course, for television “programming,” and “peer pressure” and family “religious” values and/or secrets).
When I read Bates’s piece on Ted Kaczynski, I was brought back to 1997, when the Unibomber surfaced. I absorbed his Manifesto back then and was moved by its current of deep truth.
A year or two ago, I said, on a facebook post that I could understand the intense, long term frustration that had led to Ted Kacynski’s decision to turn to violence. Something like that. Can’t remember exactly what I said. In any case, as soon as I put it up, I sensed that I should not have, because of course it could be taken out of context by whoever is keeping track.
So there we have it! The impulse to censor oneself, if not refused, furthers the “National Security State” that Kaczynski thought inevitable, and Edward Snowden and others now courageously point to and describe.
Oh, and BTW: the investigative reporter who was supposedly killed in a one-car “accident” by hitting a tree at high speed at 4:25 A.M?
So that’s how this beautiful day begins. The Sun still conjuncts Jupiter, and is on the way towards its Summer Solstice Point early tomorrow. Energies run high. Expand to greet the light! Truth is flooding forth. We are all in this together. No exceptions. Be yourself, do your path.
Above all, show up! Otherwise, there’s a hole in the universe where you’re supposed to be.
