My congratulations to podmate Katarina and the Grant Group for their success in obtaining the funding for five Green Acres neighborhood signs that, by establishing clear borders and identity for the neighborhood, will begin the process of Healing Our Borders that have been eviscerated by the recent widening of the “Bypass.” The group presented its proposal to the committee which evaluates the Neighborhood Improvement Grants yesterday evening. They hardly asked any questions. We wondered why. And were, of course, concerned.

On the other hand, one of the members of the committee grinned, and said, “I must say, your enthusiasm is contagious!”

Early this morning, from Vickie Provine, of Bloomington City’s Housing and Neighborhood Development Department:

Here is the group, on the day when they turned in the grant to Vickie. Remember that harrowing deadline that they actually made, with 4 minutes to spare?
